This assignment aims to enhance proficiency in freehand drawing, the focus is on a blend of self-expression, sketching of both natural and man-made objects, architectural lettering, understanding tonal values, and refining rendering techniques. Additionally, the aim is to cultivate expertise in the art of coloring, employing watercolors or alternative mediums. The emphasis lies in selecting an appropriate color palette that effectively encapsulates the essence and conveys the intended genre of the film.

PROCESS

In selecting Zaha Hadid as the central figure for this assignment, my decision was fueled by a profound admiration for her visionary approach to architecture. As I delved into the research surrounding her body of work, I found myself captivated by the uniqueness and ingenuity embedded in the structures she conceived. Zaha Hadid's architectural creations not only exhibit distinctive and avant-garde forms but also showcase a stylistic approach that stands apart from the conventional norms observed in the works of many other renowned architects.

The sheer innovation evident in Hadid's designs, coupled with her fearless departure from the conventional, resonated strongly with my artistic sensibilities. Her buildings transcend the boundaries of traditional architectural norms, embodying a fusion of aesthetic brilliance and structural innovation. This exploration into Hadid's architectural legacy has not only deepened my understanding of her as a pioneering architect but has also inspired me to consider alternative perspectives and unconventional approaches within the realm of architectural design. As I embark on illustrating her and her creations, I am eager to visually capture and convey the essence of her groundbreaking contributions to the field of architecture.

SUBMISSION

We were mandated to submit both physical and online copies for Assignment 2. The physical submission entailed sketches on A4 paper and the drawings for presentation. On the other hand, for the online version, we were required to capture photographs of the drawings and adeptly compile them into slides. This comprehensive submission process ensures accessibility and preservation of our work in multiple formats, fostering efficient record-keeping and facilitating evaluation by the relevant parties.

REFLECTION

Throughout the completion of this assignment, I acquired valuable skills in professional architectural drawing, incorporating scales and precise measurements. Despite the challenges faced, I am gratified to have experienced this learning process, especially considering it was my first attempt at drawing plans. This assignment has undoubtedly contributed to my growth as an aspiring architect, and I now possess a stronger foundation for future drawing endeavors.
