The Full Story
INTEGRATION WITH ARCHITECTURE DESIGN STUDIO 1
This assignment encompasses two main objectives. Firstly, it focuses on the illustration of architectural forms and spaces using 3D modeling, emphasizing skills in visualization and spatial expression. Secondly, the course aims to develop students' ability to produce visual compositions and models specifically tailored for architectural design projects, fostering a comprehensive proficiency in both conceptual and practical aspects of architectural visualization.
AIM
The primary objectives of this course revolve around the integration and advancement of 3D modeling techniques specifically tailored for architectural design projects. The curriculum places a significant emphasis on introducing students to the intricacies of 3D modeling while concurrently fostering the development of advanced skills in visualizing and articulating architectural ideas, spatial arrangements, and forms. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical application, the course aims to provide a well-rounded understanding of 3D modeling as a crucial tool for effective communication and visualization within the realm of architectural design. Through this comprehensive approach, students are poised to enhance their capabilities in both the technical and creative aspects of architectural representation.
PROCESS
The construction of the model involved the utilization of modeling board and perspex. A strategic approach was adopted by partitioning the model into three distinct segments, facilitating a more systematic and manageable construction process. Precision was maintained as triangles were meticulously cut from both the modeling board and perspex materials. Subsequently, the components were interconnected in accordance with the designated design, culminating in the assembly of a three-space functional model. This methodical construction technique ensured both accuracy in execution and coherence with the intended design.

Subsequently, the drawing phase commenced with a preliminary layout designed using Canva, a deliberate step taken to streamline the subsequent paper-based drawing process. To ensure a structured and balanced workflow, the task was systematically divided across the span of a week, allowing for designated periods of focused work and intervals for relaxation. The initial three days were dedicated to the drawing process, followed by two days allocated for the meticulous compilation of information onto paper. The concluding days were reserved for the intricate detailing of the drawings, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive execution of the design concept. This methodical approach was undertaken to optimize efficiency and uphold a disciplined timeline throughout the entirety of the drawing phase.
REFLECTION
During this assignment, despite the challenges posed by the rigidity of perspex material, I found the process of constructing the model enjoyable and educational. It provided valuable insights into creating small-scale spaces using appropriate materials. In the drawing phase, I enhanced my skills in architectural drawings, gaining practical experience and refining my ability to produce detailed representations. Overall, this assignment has been a valuable learning experience, contributing to both my practical and theoretical understanding in architecture.
